omg really? i didnt look that closely
different again to the 350D battery?
why different cards?

(and, bwaaaahahaha @ knob jockeys)

That lists an LP-E5 battery, the old ones are NB-2L's. I by default assume that's a different grip, and tbh the camera looks from that photo a different shape anyway. And it's now on SD/SDHC cards.

Not a clever move IMO. If they needed more battery power why not just release a higher mhs rated NB2L, as every third party battery manufacturer have already done?

And I wonder if it's a sign that all Canon's will be on SD cards soon, the 1D's already have dual slots.

It does appear to have spot metering though. I'm sure it'll be great though I question 12Mp on a APS-C sensor, maybe noisy, either that or soft as the NR reduction algorithms kick in?

Cheers, Dave.

At a quick glance that means different battery, different grip and different cards to every other Canon DSLR.

Way to go you pile of knob jockeys.

Yeah why the change to SD cards???

Yeah why the change to SD cards???

I suspect it's a marketing thing. If everyone's compacts use SD cards already and your main competitor uses SD's, then that can and is often a big enough reason to swing the Nikon sale.

Except you either then move all your other SLRs over to SD's or you make your 450D owner change all their cards when they upgrade.

Cheers, Dave.

450D has been announced

http://www.dpreview.com …/08012403canoneos450d.asp (external link)

12MP all the usualls...Live view with dual mode AF, so one up on the 40D and 1D there....

No 5D MkII

cool, now we can expect topics on which one is better the 450D or the 40D, and why should one pay more for the 40D.

One thing for sure if I was still on the 10D the 450D would be one sweet upgrade, apart from the smaller size and the feel of the body.

and surprise surprise it uses SD

looks pretty good - except for the single screen still doubling as info + monitor
cant stand that, annoys the cr4p outta me to use

That one annoys me no end too. I bought a 400D through work recently for a staff member, that screen thing really bugged me. Staff member didn't seem to mind too much.

The impossible has begun - another step closer - and I am very hungry for it.
