Matt, don't let the canon only lens snobs ruin your new toy joy. I had the Sigma 10-20 for a couple of years. It is a great lens, and the coating looked as good the day I sold as the day I bought it. Enjoy it!

But no, it's no good on a 5D, which is why I don't have it anymore.

im not a canon only lens snob - ive got the bigma...
and kenko stuff too...

Vignetting?

not exactly - it makes a small photo in the middle of the frame with the whole rest of the photo remaining black

Yeah a mate of mine has the 17 -50 (I think) - one of the more expensive ones - it's quite nice to use.

Good to know ... from time to time I recommend lenses to people and sometimes they don't want the expense of the Canon ones - good as they are.

Cheers, Shane.

Mark - Alarms are set for tomorrow morning, charging batteries now ...

I have an L too, and love it. I have 3 more Ls on my wishlist. But there are plenty of non L and non canon glass around that is very good. The Sigma 10-20 is one of them (provided you only want to use it on a 1.6 crop camera.)
