Not sure what this bird is? He was hopping around, up, and down so much he was hard to photograph. Took about 30 pics and this is the only one he was still on. I know it is not that great of picture either.

I like this image..1) its a bird I would very much like to photograph...or even see 2) I like the pose 3) nice perch and BG. There are some minor issues with the image and since you have image editing OK , I took the liberty of doing an edit...gave it a very slight contrast boost with curves in CS2, then a very subtle ( USM) LAB sharpenning of the lightness channel ( so as not to increase any color noise). A slight burn on the rock to lower the brightness on the left side and finally I blur brushed the BG to reduce the noise..The changes are subtle..Hope you approve

Very nice shot Duane and I also like Gary's edit which really makes the bird pop from the BG.

Gary,
Yes I like the edit. I am not that good with cs2. We were visiting my son at Bozeman, MT where he is going to school. Went for a hike to a waterfall. The dipper was hopping all over the place. It bounced around so much I had a heck of a time getting a shot with it standing still.
