I like #2 because the lighting is, in my opinion, the best of the entire series.

All the rest give the impression of more contrasty lighting.

I prefer to position the main light higher and a bit more to the front of the model.

The lighting in #2 could also be softer - notice the heavy shadow of her arm and the fact that her right cheekbone is very dark.

You could raise the light to a higher position and a little more in front of the model.
You could use some fill light to soften the shadows, or use as much diffusion as you can get by bouncing light off the walls and ceiling or using an umbrella.
