What do you guys think of these two Tamron lens

Tamron Wide Angle-Telephoto AF 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 Aspherical Lens
Tamron Telephoto AF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 LD Macro Lens


I dont have a lot of money to spend on lens. Nor will I have much for quite some time. I found both of these for under $200. Are they so bad that I should just stick with my kit lens or will they work ok for me until I can get something else (in probably over a year). I'd really like a zoom lens for things like NASCAR ect. But I also want a lens in the same range as the kit lens just better. But like I said I cant afford much more than what these two cost.

Anyone have some advice??

I have the 75-300mm, and it takes okay pictures ( search my posts to see some examples, or look at the archive thread) ... but the autofocus is incredibly slow.

Personally, I think if you are looking for a great lens to upgrade from the kit lens, save up an extra $100, and get yourself either the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 lens. Don't bother with either of these ... the quality improvement just isn't there.

I bought mine new-in-box off of e-bay for $330 ... and it's an amazing lens - focuses very fast, and the image quality is comparable to Canon's $1000 24-70mm f/2.8L.
