Details - EOS 30D Firmware Update Ver. 1.0.5

File Version
1.0
File Size
4.28 MB
Post Date
12/01/2007
Download and Installation Instructions
This Firmware update (Version 1.0.5) incorporates the following additional functions and corrections:

  1. When making camera-direct prints, a semi-gloss paper can be newly selected in the camera settings. When EOS 30D is connected to PIXUS 9000 and camera-direct prints are made with PictBridge-compatible printers, semi-gloss paper can be selected in the camera settings.

  2. Corrected the phenomenon wherein the displayed number of continuous shots that can be taken increases when images that have been taken are deleted.

    The maximum burst displayed during continuous shooting is 9 (maximum burst displayed on the viewfinder when shooting in the RAW+JPEG setting is 7).

    Please refer to the instruction manual for an estimate of the actual number of shots that can be taken continuously.

:lol::lol::lol:

Canon makes great printers, but to get the best out of them, one has do a myriad of processing on the image file (preferably RAW).

Trying to improve something like the print button is like trying the make the teats on a man functional.:lol::lol:

When did voluptuous become voluminous?

It would be nice if Canon would do firmware updates that are actually useful in the real world, maybe even enhance something, not just "fix" things that don't matter :)
I got my 30D last March and it came with 1.0.5.

That was my conclusion too... Updates can bring new bugs as well, so if it's not doing you any good, it's probably not a good idea to go through with it.
