went on holiday recently and took a lot of photos, mostly snapshots but there is a few that i am really proud of (and they all fall into the transportation category)

1. 20 seconds@f22 50ISO - looking down the side of the pacific sun

2. 1/50@f2 1600ISO - Dropping of the Pilot after leaving melbourne (shot from pacific sun)

3. 1/125@f4.5 800ISO - Leaving sydney aboard the Pacific Dawn

4. 5 seconds@f22 50ISO - Tugboat in Noumea - shot from the pacific dawn

let me know what you think of them all, these were a few ideas i had whilst on holidays, #4 was a spur of the moment thing after in noticed the tug was staying in a very similar position as we left the harbour.

thanks for looking

A lot of people wouldn't have tried that. Good job on all of them!

In the last one; amazing the tug boat is so sharp after a 5 second exposure! Great capture and technique.

Excellent! I particularly like No. 4. I was looking at it for a little while, before I read your comments. They're all good but that one stands out.

cheers
Bill

Tom

it is a little soft at the front of the boat, but the side and rear are pretty sharp.
its more to the tug drivers skill than anything i did though,i just took the photo, he kept the tug in the same spot relative to our ship.
i took about 5 frames from 3 seconds up to 10 seconds and this was the best of them

Wow I love the long exposure shots.
I can see the fist one being used in a brochure for the ship :-)
