I started off with 85mm f/1.8 and later added 50mm f/1.4. The 85mm is certainly my favorite of the two, since I trust it wide open a lot more. These are the two sharpest non-L lens and really gives a good run for the money. Just a small notch lesser in image quality. Hell with how much you'd save vs getting the 85L and 50 1.4 you could probable also pick-up a 28 1.8 OMG I saw a nipple, my eye's are bleeding!
