I've seen this for the past few weeks, and its bugging me that I can't track down what it is.

In Lightroom Library's lefthand panel in the Library section it shows "All Photographs" then gives two numbers... in my case "8816 / 8820" Also in film strip it says 8816 of 8820 photographs... I'm wondering how I get it to say 8820 of 8820 photographs.
I've tried to make sure all my filters are reset or turned off.

Any ideas?

Same here. ???

Even filtering, the number in the All Photographs doesn't change, though. All is all. All displayed is different.

If you have it saying 8816/8820, it means that you have 4 images stacked somewhere.

Bingo! Just stacked some, and that was it. Still not sure why it would alter the count that way though.

I think Lightroom is counting the displayed photos. That's my guess at least.

I think the 2nd number is a count of total images INCLUDING stacked images and virtual images . . .

Lightroom has some unique ways to count the photos in your catalogue. As mentioned before it displays the # of photos showing / # of photos total if you have stacked photos. This can be helpful if you forgot you stacked some images into a group.

I also like the way it counts when you use the Find tool in the Library. Type a keyword into the find dialogue box and then take a look at your folders. It will tell you how many photos from each folder/sub-folder have a match to your search criteria. I know it’s not an earth shattering revelation, but it’s still kind of neat. (yes, I know I’m a geek) :D

Do people just read the first post and none of the answers anymore?

Thank you very much... I try to solve this stuff before I post, but couldn't figure this... now it makes perfect sense. I was afraid I had some images it was having problems with, and refusing to tell me where they were. Feel much better now.
