In the end I decided to head to the race track for the sports car race. On the way, I picked up this nice looking girl hitchhiker. She was commenting that we must be pretty bored at our forum to start things like that, but nevertheless had a hearty laugh at the thought of a photo geek picking her up and telling his life story. She then asked if I would help her with her backpack. I came around behind her, and grasped the pack with both hands. Just then, I noticed that there was a 10D sticking out of the top. It was love at first sight! An elderly gentleman shuffled by pointing at us and muttering something about inapprorpriate behavior. The girl, understandably frightened, jumped into my arms and buried her face in my neck. I said it's alright dear, he's practically a fixture in these here parts and is quite friendly once you get to know him. She composed herself, but in the excitement her 10D had fallen onto the ground; appearing to have landed on the lens. Visually, it looked as though only the lens filter may have been damaged. With a sigh of relief she asked if we could stop at the next Ritz to get a new UV filter. When we got there, we discovered my twin brother who had been taken from my parents at birth and who I had been searching for since 1965. I noticed that his shutter finger was missing and he then told me that a giant penguin bit it off when he was in Antarctica taking photographs for the SI Swimsuit Annual. The penguin mistook his 300 F2.8 for a Ian (®Feathers & Fur)
