OK, this has been killing me. These images are from a wedding photographer I know (but not well enough to ask) and admire. I have my own 'effects' and style that I use, but her's have always looked so good to me, and I would love to know how they're done. I have the Kubota actions, as well as trying stuff on my own, but I can figure it out! If anyone knows of an action or series of actions, settings, anything that could even start me in the right direction that would be great.

Photo 3 - second effect (most of her colour images look like this)

Photo 4 - Most of her BW photos look like this. I've sortof figured this one out that it's a duotone (I think)

I like the effect too. Kinda similar to the so called "300" effect from the movie. I would like to know how the photographer achieves this too.

#3 is easy, I think - looks like he dropped the saturation down a few clicks and then added a vignette.

Ya I found that shortly after I posted, but unfortunatly I'm working in CS, not CS2, so I guess I"ll have to wait to try it out. It does look like it does what I'm looking for thouh.

I love them, I don't use all of them all the time, but they're great. Especially the third set is very 'special effectsey' and not every action works on every picture. My best advice is always get it right in the camera. the old saying of crap in crap out is very true for photoshop actions. They can make a good picture great, but they'll make an OK picture terible.

Thanks Stephanie. So you say go for the third set? I am looking for something to make the colors pop more, the eyes etc. Would the third set qualify for that?

Thanks again,
Teeny:)

Not necessarily. Take a look at the site and samples, and decide for yourself. You just have to be more careful with that set because the effects are a lot more noticable and less likely to work on every image.
