And they're of my dogs! What else, they're my favorite subjects ;)

The only light I used was a flash bounced off the ceiling, then PP the backdrop in Photoshop. Next time I want to set up lighting, but I really just wanted to get some Christmas pics done for cards. Any critiques are welcomed!!

#1 Good job getting some detail in the blacks
#2 IMO, could easily sell to a Card Company! It's just awesome.
#3 Losing detail in the top of the head...a little blown. You might consider PPing an alternate texture into the ornament to kill studio reflection. Expresssion is priceless!
#4 Upper left edge of Santa Hat is completely blown and invisible as is the right side of the tuft at the end of the hat.
#5 I defy anyone to be able to look at this and not laugh. Just hilarious. (The area between her paws looks a little funky...Is she sitting on her tail?)
#6 Great group shot but the highlites on the lightest dog on the right are blown and the black dog is lacking the details you got in #1. Little too much contrast.

Outstanding concept, really cute outcome and with just a few tweaks I think you'd have six shots that would make great cards and would probably sell ...

Thanks so much!

For #3, her blown head kills me, but in the original picture it is not blown ... so I really just need to go back and fill it back in. That happened when I messed with levels. I never thought about PPing something else into the ornament ... thanks for the idea!

For #4, again it wasn't blown out in the original. But if I left it un-retouched, the hat looked dirty. I thought blown out was better. I'm sure if I played with it more I could get it to look right.

#5 - Hmmm, she probably was sitting on her tail. The backdrop also got messed up but she won't sit still when she's got something on her head. She's like .... nuh huh, no way, I'm outta here!!!

#6 - Since having a black and a white dog, I've realized that photographing a black dog and a white dog together can be very difficult!! I plan on moving towards all the same color dogs next time around. Just kidding ;) I actually like the challenge. Again I could probably go back to the original and get detail from them both.

I appreciate the critiques! Looks like I'm off to Photoshop :D

#2 without a doubt, could and should be a Christmas card.

Otherwise I second FlyingPhotogs comments.

Very nice shots. I wish my dog would hold still long enough for me to do that. I'd like to take her to a studio one day.
