Winter Loon

Been lots of bad weather and a lack of time due to WORK! Here is all I have from the last week or so. A Common Loon in winter dress in the middle of the morning preen - I love the way they roll on the side and get the bottom worked on. Shot with the 500 f4 on the BushHawk on a flat light Sunday!

Indeed, nice behavior shot! Flat light Sunday seems to have been a good time to shoot!

Great shot Stardog.....it really shows just how far back their legs are on their bodies. Which is why you rarely see them walking and they usually nest right on the water's edge.
