Jeff let me pick your brain a bit. Which do you like better your 35 or 24-70? Do you think it is wiser to get the zoom first and the prime later?

And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same.

Wow well this is a tough one. I really like both lenses. They each have their own capabilities and uses, obviously. I started with the 24-70 because I need the versatility of the zoom when doing weddings and some outdoor portraits, ie: zoom in just enough to crop out some annoying background object, that way I dont have to do it later, etc.

The 35L is a very fine lens. I have really enjoyed mine and have gotten a lot of good use out of it.

I hate to be so general on this, but it really depends on what you shoot and what you need. Try the 24-70 for a week or so, see if you like it. Then get the 35L. I know this may be unreasonable, but it's probably the only way for you to know what you need yourself without relying on some POTN dip to tell you what they think, haha! ;)

Jokes aside... try renting if possible.:)

Good morning Justin!

I'm doing well today. I guess the only shopping left is for stocking stuffers which is always fun! Other than that I am ready to tear into presents tomorrow lol.

How are you doing?

Hey Pete! We're doing fine here. I've still got some presents to wrap but all is done otherwise.

Doing all right I guess. I just finished vacuuming the house because my brother's gf will be staying here tonight and tomorrow (even though my parents and I think tomorrow is supposed to be family time) Unfortunately the folks said she could stay, and she's sooooo excited because this is the first Christmas that she has ever celebrated (she's jewish so they don't do this stuff). Other than that not much is going on, just waiting. You, Peter?
