It is a very cool innovative computer, but I don't really need that much portability, and I would rather have a Macbook Pro.

Well I don't really like how thin it is, but the Macbook Pro is just as portable

Bootsie wrote in post #4857198 (external link)
It would still be ~$1800 to upgrade to the Mac that I want. :(

Then start saving. Besides, what kind of upgrades cost that much? PS Elements would probably bump the price a bit but not that much

Aha, I knew it (actually I didn't but it's just some info that I read)

Tablets are the way to go honestly. I know I cant use this pad to edit, and even with a mouse I find it hard after using my tablet. I guess it's because I am able to draw decently, it's just the artist in me LOL.

Aw, go for it Brooke! :D

Well I could probably sell my current Notebook for about $800 (it is only single core) and I would want to get close to the best Macbook. (other than RAM, I can do that myself) So about $2300-2400 for the Mac. So maybe it would be closer to $1500 to upgrade.

Well, I'm stuck with a trackpad. I could borrow my Mom's mouse since she never touches her laptop bag anymore.

Ah, I just checked the Apple site and the 15 inch is around $2499 so now I know exactly what you're looking for (more or less).

Yuck, I cannot edit with this pad for the life of me.

I only encourage the best in people hehe.

I guess it's just one more thing to put on the ever growing list of things to get, right behind new glass, a monopod, a remote release, a new camera bag...

The best of the worst?

So far, so good. There is quite a bit of snow up here . . .

In here, no one gets respect.

Says who?

Jeff Allred wrote in post #4857115 (external link)
I have the rest of today and the next two days off. I am ready to go shoot something for fun Marc.... Any ideas? lol

Yeah, I have a bunch of them. I will hit you up on IM.

I do use a tablet, for any editing I do.

I use a Wacom Intuos. I've given a lot of thought into getting a tablet laptop, but you lose the depth when you do that.

No, not you . . .

I may be dumb, but I'm not scared . . .

Yeah I bet there is. I probably wouldnt make it up Jeff's hill now LOL.

Sounds good, IM me whenever. I am here for the evening unless I get a wild hair and decide to go suffer through a movie Natalie wants to see tonight. I have a wacom intuos3 as well... We were talking about the regular pad that comes with laptops, harder than hell to do anything but navigate the net with.

I'm innocent man!
