HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY EVERYBODY!!!

Bootsie wrote in post #5130551 (external link)
Sorry kitten, that is no fun. It is good that your dad is being somewhat supportive though. Just be smart with your money so that you can prove to your parents that you are trustworthy.

P.S. I would go with a Crumpler bag if I were you.

I know, but everytime I try to tell them that I want to buy them on my own Mom tries to come up with reasons why I shouldn't or why they should pay half. One of these "excuses" she used was, "Your leaving us nothing to get you for your birthday." Yeah, like you're going to go and drop that much money on me for my birthday.

I'll look into the Crumplers.

This savings thing, Agreed by many, is a waste of time and money.

Unless you have about 10-20K and a good interest rate. Basically I just put my money in there so I'm not tempted to spend it.

Ive said this before, Stock is the way you go, if you go on with the Savings account, in about...10 years you wont gain much at all.

I know, my grandfather wants me to get stocks but for now I'm just going to stick with the savings account.

yup, put your money in stock. Make a lot of money and it is reliable as hell. Just look at Bear-Sterns....they once smiled at their future too. ;):D

I will, but not just yet.

Glad to hear your dad is the voice of reason. Your mom will come around. I think it's just hard for her to justify the money when she doesn't understand what the difference will be.

And, good morning to all! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I hope she does. I don't think that's it at all because she can easily drop $700+ for my brother's dance lessons and WAAAAY more sending him to competitions but any time I bring up camera stuff she just doesn't want to her it. I'll do what Dad said and try to SHOW her the differences but if she doesn't understand then I'm just going to drop it and make my purchases without her knowledge.

Also reposting it since People never bother to read old pages...

I read back sometimes. Go into your settings in your User CP and change the page format to show 50 posts per page. I guess I'm probably the only one that does this because people seem to skip my posts quite a bit.

Just got an email from my friend whose daughter I did the pics for....

She asked about ordering the collage. :) Too funny. At least I did it at printable resolution and downsized it for email. Plus, I get to do the old selective color bit on one. Too funny.

I wish. I could really use the cash next year when I get my $8,000 pay cut.

I will. Just here though. No one else likes it. But, what the client wants, the client gets.

Made it. Hope all is well with you today, Tiff and Brooke, and Chris. I'm not celebrating as I ate a ton at Olive Garden at lunch.

This savings thing, Agreed by many, is a waste of time and money.

Ive said this before, Stock is the way you go, if you go on with the Savings account, in about...10 years you wont gain much at all.

An Example of stock:

If you open an account with about 1000$ with some major to minor companies (minor for more interest) and keep adding more each month (or each year for that matter) and depending on which companies you selected, your interest will differ each year from 5 to 11% or more.

Now imagine with all the money you save up each year (example: 1000$)
and increasing the amount you put each year, the result in 20-25-30 years will be about 500,000$'s gained up, with minor to major losses included.

and if you decide to wait for about 40 years, the amount will keep doubling (example is 1mil$ to 2mil$).
it may be a long wait, But the prize is so rewarding that you wont even care, think about this.
Every month, as i put the 250$ into my account, i smile at my future.
if you need more info, feel free to tell me.

I read back a page.... and couldn't read anymore:)
But it seems like most are well today.
A high yield savings account might be a good option right now with stocks still in the toilet.... though a few well thought out mutual funds is usually more stable than buying a few stocks.

Happy beer drinking day everyone.
who will post the first pictures of their drunk friends?
