You guys make me so jealous! I'm living in Nairobi, affectionately known as Nai-robbery, and you have to be insanely careful with you camera gear. Leaving it sitting on a tripod, in the dark, for 30 sedonds is pure madness!

I really love the long-exposure shots.

Been there once. It wasnt too bad but I know what you mean. Its safe if you stand by your camera but I know what you mean.

Rad,
My shot was taken out at the Salton Sea, the town of Bombay Beach on the eastern shore. Google the Salton Sea, it's a fascinating story that adds much to mood of the area. There are great photography subjects all around the coastline. Be warned though, if you don't like 120 degree heat, don't go in the summertime!

Here are just a couple more from one of my first trips out there. All long exposures around 30 seconds, in keeping with the theme of the thread ;)

Here's an HDR which includes one 30 second exposure, and two other shorter ones.

I suck at long exposures, but this is my favourite so far. I didn't intend to get that shot at all either; I spent too long buggering about setting up my cheapo tripod to capture some fireworks and missed them all.

Note: I shot quite wide open, so the moon sucks. :(

Doogie What took you to Spain? There are some Gorgeous shots all over the area you are in.

I was at NAS Rota from 79-82 and have lots of slides. Wish I had digital back then :).

There is a nice shot of Christopher Columbus castle at Puerto de Santa Maria.

Marina shot across CADIZ bay from Rota to Cadiz ciudad is very nice.

Jerez de la Frontiera has some nice buildings.

Dont forget the Castles all over southern spain.

Cheers and Raise a glass of Solara 1847 for me

I am stationed at NAS Rota, but the AF side of the house. I have done alot of trips around Spain and Portugal to take pictures when time allows, and always looking for new spots. Here for about 5 more months and then headed back to Korea :) for a couple of years.

here's one I shot before I left Oz, a local railway station 30sec.....I regularly take shots from 1-30 sec....most I've shot here though are around 20 sec due to lighting.
