So I have the canon 20D looking to buy the 5D.
I have 85mm 1.8, 70-200 USM IS
and looking to replace my tamron 28-75 b/c I need something sharper but just as wide.
I wanted the 17-55 but seen it cant be used on the 5D. Would love your opinions.
I shoot all on location, natural light no studio.
Thanks.

Seems like the logical choice would be the 24-70 f/2.8L or the 24-105 f/4L IS or the Sigma alternatives (which I can't recommend because I've never owned one).

Well as you looking to replace the 28-75 but also want it to work FF then the only real choices are the 24-70 or the 24-105. You can go a little wider with the 16-35 f/2.8. Or you can go for the hoLy trinity of primes, the 35mm f/1.4L, 85mm f/1.2L, and the 135mm f/2L and let your feet do the zooming. Toss in the 50mm f/1.2 and you have a kick a$$ set of primes.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Might want to give a budget amount, if you have one.

Well I spend most of my $ on the 70-200 2.8.
basically when i shot a beach wedding, the 70-200 i still had to walk way back to get family and wedding party in, so want something wider yet sharp!!

24-70 is the right choice for me, 2nd by 24-105. weather seal all the way! there are bads on every lens, or the photographer is the bad one.
