I saw this guy flitting about with some Superb Fairy Wrens today at a nearby lake (sadly none of the shots of the Superb Wren turned out).

What lovely shots. These little wrens are so hard to catch. I'm afraid the ID has me guessing. I'm sure it's a fairywren. Maybe a female Superb or Splendid.

It's a gray fantail alright but could be a mangrove fantail if sen in very northern or north western part of Australia.

Glennie: You're dead right about the wrens being hard to catch. I'll be heading there again soon though to have another go at some Superb Wrens.
