Hey all I got a used 10d for my birthday and have no battery for it yet. So I am stuck here just looking at it tell my battery gets here to see if it all checks out.

While going over it I did the usual button checks to make sure every thing is working ok and the only thing I am worried about is the flash button doesn't seem to move in or out.

Any one have any thoughts on this?

You mean the button near the flash that has a lightning bolt next to it? Mine moves only slightly, but I hear a distinct click when I push it. Do you hear the click?

Yes, the button only moves slightly, and it's so small. The 10D is a good camera. Make sure you also have a charged little battery that is on the inside of the cover. Do you have a manual?

When the battery is in the camera and you are good to go, the flash will pop up when you push in that button. It probably won't engage without charge.

I am just wondering if that button is stuck because it refuses to move at all. I may call down to cords camera and see if they have a battery they would let me try.

Don't worry about it until you get the camera. I doubt anything is wrong.

And even if there's something wrong, it's nothing an external flash (which is what you really should be using), won't replace. :)

Don't worry. It won't do anything without the battery and doesn't move much in any case. I'd be surprised if it doesn't work.

Yea its just the fact that this was 375 used from adorama. It was listed as excellent and has way more cosmetic damage than my A2 has on it.

That is NOT an excellent condition unit. Send it back.
