So last night I was having a few drinks at home with my wife. Around midnight I mentioned to her that my birthday is right near Christmas, and it would be easy to get me one big gift instead of 2 smaller ones.

I love the power of Alcohol.

I brought up Amazon, and a Canon 24-105L IS, and she clicked the buy button for me. I was so shocked.

I checked this morning, and its already been shipped expected delivery is tomorrow. Wow that all went so fast I still dont believe it.

Happy Birthday to me, and a Merry Christmas to all of you!!

I have like a dozen lenses and a 580exII on my Amazon wish list, and my wife took one look and bought me.......... the seiko watch that is the only non-photography item on the list! She refuses to buy more photo gear. So I guess I am on my own.... gotta work some OT to buy myself the 24-105 (and the 70-200, and the 10-22, and the 100-400, and the 2x extender, and the 580exII, and the..........)

Rebel XTi, 430ex, Tammy 28-75, nifty fifty, kit lens, tons of reading, not enough practice, and two gorgeous subjects (my kiddies)

You should have pumped a few more drinks into her and gone for the 70-200 f2.8L IS or maybe the 300mm f2.8L IS! Maybe she'd even pose for your G&N work.

Angry Dad, that's awesome!! :) Congrats! My wife surprised me as well. She gave me $1,200 of her Christmas bonus to buy a 30D and battery grip. Now I need some L glass. :)

Hey how's that SIgma 70-200mm f/2.8? Is it any good?

Well, actually you could immediately cancel the order on Amazon after she clicked.
