I've never used an IS lens before, how does it work best in a low light situation? I can use a monopod if I choose. My plan is to use ISO1600, cable release. Any suggestions? Canon 40D, Sigma 17-70, Sigma 10-20, nifty 50, 50 1.4, 85 1.8, 70-200 4L, 70-200 f/2.8 IS, 430 EX, Manfrotto monopod, tripod and ball head, Tamrac MAS system

However, turning on IS, to reduce camera shakes, and a monopod wouldn't be a bad idea. ...Leo

Mark_Cohran Cream of the Crop  More info | Dec 13, 2007 12:06 | #3 IS doesn't freeze subject motion, it only helps with lens/camera shake, so as PacAce said, you're going to need a reasonable shutter speed to prevent subject blur due to their movement. The monopod would be a good idea. Mark
