I tried something a little different tonight.
I'll post more later after I go through them.
I shot this with my 20D at 1600iso 1/500@2.8 15mm lens.

It only got booted across the floor once (it's OK)

great shot! usually basketball shots are boring cuz most are from the sidelines or the stands. but this is a great angle. great timing too!

Camera was setup on Manfrotto mini tripod and fired via cable release.

Pretty daring! You could have put a jersey on your tripod and possibly drawn a charge.

I thought about the same thing when I did my last game, but was only daring enough to shoot the cheerleaders.

Here is the picture that drew a charge.

Definitely a charge -- player is clearly out of control, and the tripod had established position.

Nice shots, always worth trying something different. The first shot looks great.

I like the first one,, great perspective there. I too have a son that plays on his Junior Varsity team at high school. The shots from the stands are somewhat less than inspiring. Problem is theres not much room behind the net. I figured I'd be a major distraction under there.
Love the shot !!

I shoot mostly from the baseline, working corner to corner. I have some other pictures from this game that can be seen here. The players are not focused on me.
