They are both very nice. I like the simplicity of number 1 but wonder if a crop that was not so tight might work better. I am no expert just wondering.

I love how i was attracted to such a small object like the rose. It must be the Red that stands out

I can't quite put my finger on it, but there is something magical about the first photo. The black and white theme with the solitary red rose? The ladies body framed between the black slat on the left and the white slat on the right? Black and white theme with a blond haired, well tanned (not over tanned) subject? A side facial profile with parts of her face hidden by her hair? Maybe it's the totality of these things that makes me like it a lot! ;-)a Thank you for sharing!

I would like to see a reflector on the camera left of the second shot to lighten the shadows a little more

otherwise, great shots
