Has anyone every seen these spots in their photos. I recently took photos against a white background and there were tons these transparent spots in the picture. Any suggestions whats causing this problem? How do I fix this problem. Is my sensor damaged?

Do a search for sensor dust or sensor cleaning...you'll get more info than you could ever want :)

It should be more pronounced at smaller apertures (f/16 for instance), at f/4 you will probably hardly notice it.
Try to blow it off with a rocket blower (or similar) - Do NOT use compressed air from a can or blow on it with your breath!

If it's really stubborn you will have to get a cleaning kit - make sure you get one that is ok with your camera/sensor type.

Dont panic!

Round grayish spots? As the others have stated, you have sensor dust. I personally use the largest sized Rocket Blower, and it works well.

Sensor dust gets my vote too. Happens to all DSLRs. Do a bit of reading around about sensor cleaning, it's not a big task but you risk damaging your sensor if you don't know what you're doing.

Let's see an image, but it sounds like nothing more than some dust on the sensor.

Thanks everyone! It appears to be sensor dust. Now my problem is that I've used the largest pocket blower to remove the dust. I've had no luck so far. This is what peaked my interest. I'll give it another try. Thanks again.

Eryk,

You're a funny guy for asking about the trade. lol I'm very interested in buying a 40D later down the line. As for the senor, I think I'm experiencing sensor snot, too. I hope to have this fix very soon because I cannot shoot anything until this is fixed.

Photoman,
Do what we all do, just don't go to a small aperture, and on a shot that really matters, clone out the visible snot! I couldn't NOT shoot just because of dust!
