We heard this little guy (or girl) hit our window. He hit so hard he left feathers and a grease stain. We found him hanging in a low bush totally stunned. We didn't know if he would live but we untangled him and put him in my wife's hat to keep him warm. We didn't want to take him in the house for fear he would panic and hurt himself more. Plus, we have 3 cats and a dog (hyper Lab). He lay in the hat for about 20 minutes. My wife went out to keep him company but he flew away. Hope he survived. What a trauma, for all involved.

Awwww, hope he made it also! My dad had a perfect form of a bird, wings outspread, on his picture window, from the grease on his feathers. It was really beautiful. He left it there for quite a while. (I think the bird survived..)

I sure wish I had unlimited funds. There are supposed to be some windows you can buy that do not reflect their surroundings. I think they change reflectivity electrically and are designed specifically with birds in mind. It is really astounding how many birds are killed in this manner every year.
