Safari World in Thailand is an open zoo where you can drive among the animals, providing some great shooting opportunities.

1 - This lion was enjoying her morning breakfast on top of the feeders car.

2 - Beautifully posing tigers.

3 - Feeding time for the giraffes.

Lioness acts like she bit into something that tastes bad. Tigers could have used some fill flash. Nice captures!

Dig the tigers. The recommendation of fill flash on tigers should be VERY CAREFULLY considered, I think.

Thanks Jack for comment and advise. Actually I could use flash (with a booster) there; we were only a few meters away from the animals when closest.

This drive through was maybe a bit too packed: buses, cars, taxes (like us) driving too fast having obviously not the same interest as me (spending a good time to follow what the animals were actually doing, and taken some photos at the same time.)

Cheers Randy. I guess the tigers would not care about flash - too much hassle around so a tiny flash would not make a big difference. (But as said, I didn't test that ...)

In this morning news there was a tragic reminder that a zoo is not not always a safe place: click (external link). So maybe not a good idea to get too close to animals in these open zoos in a quest of the best shot.
