Nice shot... I think it might be better compositionally by eliminating the stump in the foreground (slightly different angle maybe) and zooming in a little more to enlarge the swans. Just my opinion--still a very nice shot as it is...

There are other ways of producing HDR pictures. Like in Photoshop.
I am just not sure what they are.

The only way i have tired is with multiple exposures and Photomatrix

Nice image, looks good. It a pity you didn't get the foreground log in sharper focus though.

Also, there is a distinction between 'HDR processing' and tone mapping an image. If there's no High Dynamic Range (ie, a single file) involved there's no reason to consider it an HDR.

I suppose it would be considered a tone-mapped image then. This was created using Photomatix and converting a RAW file to an HDR image and tone-mapping it. It's a false high dynamic range, but very similar results can be achieved using a single RAW image like I did here. Usually there is just more noise in darker shadows.

The log isn't in focus because the level of light I was shooting in was very low and a large aperture was necessary to get an adequate shutter speed so as not to blur the moving swans or cause motion blur from holding the camera.

Thanks for the kind words.
