So our good pal LittleBuddy LightRules aka Jojo aka NightBooze aka SightMoves aka SlightOooze is giving up his wonderful lens testing after a great four+ years of contribution. He is The King and we should all wish him well.

Jojo a great guy who has constantly put himself out to help others and in so doing he has had a great impact on many people who have bought based on his suggestions. Always fair and open minded, he has been a credit to this community and to the triumph of art and craft of photography over mere gear aquisition.

He has debunked the notion that 'you get what you pay for' and has championed the idea that there is plenty of choice for all pockets and if you choose wisely you don't have to spend a fortune to get great results.

How he has found the time to 'service' the constant round of queries here, elsewhere and at his web site, plus handle the inevitable critics and trolls, and usually with exceptional humour, is beyond me. What a guy!

Thank you Jojo :D

Well said Dave, Jojo the champion of sensible and unblinkered lens tests... so what's happened?

Next time I'm in his neighborhood, I'll buy him a few beers, that's for sure.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

Wow.. I wish he'd talked to me, maybe I would have been happy with Tamron and saved myself a packet... :D

oh - absolutely - HUGE thanks for the advice and testing.

It must have been really time consuming - and the enquiries and requests were certainly a measure of the need for such a site.

I gave up. I could get a hold of every and any lens I wanted, but Pete just wouldn't let me at his 200 F1.8. So I threw in the towel.

Well Jojo,

That's OK, so long as you are not abandoning POTN and still bringing your sense to bear ;)

Now, now, little buddie, I may not be around for much longer......we need your young vigour to carry the torch of lens enlightenment.
Besides, I am just an old collector...a hack........dammit, I don't even own a tripod. :(
The bottom line is, who could possibly ever fill your shoes ?

Peter, I have tried my best. Some prejudices die hard, ya know? Many just won't accept anything less than a white lens filled with similar-colored flouride. Their minds simply cannot be moved.

The bottom line is, who could possibly ever fill your shoes?

I have a lump in my throat and my eyes are welling up. Please stop already.

Ignore the asses ... don't let them undermind your good works. Truth is most of the 'critics' speak from a limited experience. You speak with authority. All they can argue is you have a bias; they have never actually used this stuff so it's all hot air. Take it all for what it is: a comedy featuring a host of quivering, too rich, myopic, silly little lads ;)

And this, my friend, is why you are the true King around here, Connie. You know what you're talking about.

I wonder if I can do one final test between the 200 F1.8 and 18-200 OS to show Pete what he's missin' out on?

OK, OK.....let's do it.
Second, there is an old Finnished (or Hungarian) expression....."Margaritas ante Porcos".......people don't get it, but that ain't your fault.
