Very powerful images, I like em.

The goal is not to change your subjects, but for the subject to change the photographer.

First shot I'm really liking a lot. The incredible sky contrasts the slum nicely.

Yea the sky has such a dynamic feel to it. Almost HDR light... Is it HDR?

Well the shots are awesome, i personally think they are great!

Where did you take your meter reading from? I wonder if the sky would not have been so blown in number 4 if you metered off of the water reflection? Overall, great shots.

It was photoshop...It was kind of an HDR merge. I'll explain below.

Thanks Tom,

I tried doing an HDR merge, but I didn't like how it turned out. Instead, I had the sky exposed as it is, and I had the foreground exposed as it is in two different shots (3 total from the HDR files) but I took those two images and in photoshop just cut the sky from one and laid it over the other. After merging the two images together, I upped the contrast, added some vignetting, and did some other minor tweaking.

Yeah, I metered on the people. I didn't want silhouettes, and at the time, I only had 1 shot left on the card since we were walking back to our base. I wish the sun was a little lower so that I could get more of the sunset in there, but I guess its too late.

Nice series. Even with the blown sky in the fourth image, it's still great. I feel like it kinda forces me to pay more attention the the rest of the image because there really isn't anything of interest in the sky.
