Hi all,
I just got a new 40D. Not much of a transition from the 20D, but enough to keep my attention. One thing I haven't figured out is the data connection on the base plate. Anyone have an idea what that is and what the 40D uses it for?
Thanks,
Mickey

I think it is used by the wireless file transmitter WFT-E3/WFT-E3A - but I'm not completely sure about that.

Oh yes, I see. It fits into what looks like a small battery grip to provide various protocols of file transfer to the computer via 80211 wireless lan. Cool. Didn't know about that.

Thanks!
