Yes Apollo, was a fun trip and hard to choose as well. All were winners for me.:) Am such a pet fanatic of any kind. Not so sure I would choose the same today, if given the same opportunity. Soooo many great shots, so little time! Thanks again for the participation, and congrats to all for having and loving your fur babies!!

Where is Wally? Still celebrating? Am ready to watch for the next challenge! Santa brought an early present in the form of an all around IS lens to me, but am now researching a new telephoto L lens for a Christmas bonus, yet to be spent! whoohooooo

I think he's probably on a fishing trip or something. He hasn't logged on in 6 days.

Not knowing the origins of this contest, and no time to reseach it right now, I agree with eastcoastsponger, although it grieves me to do so. I so looked forward to Wally's challenge again. He, like others here, have challenged us to do our best, and taught us lessor beings much! Whatever the majority chooses, I am game! Have fun ya'll, I will be out of pocket, with camera in tow though for the next few days. Have a wonderful, safe, and prosperous New Year and all the year through! Looking forward to all of your shots, and more learning from you in the new year. :)

Poll..........

I'd be willing to step up in place of him.....if the second place is to shy.

Best Macro without a macro Lens or Tube.......

(shrugs)

The ball needs to get rolling.

Nah, how about Symmetry?

I think a new one should get started, whatever the theme may be.

Sounds like you have a shot you want to release.

Cindy32550's call really.

And how might this be accomplished? A reversed lens would be the only way to get close to a true macro.

Every other speed challenge was content oriented, not gear oriented (besides DSLRS being a requirement, obviously). Lets do something that will challenge the entrants to be creative with their ideas, not something that has such a vague theme as "macro" when you can't even take a true macro without the things you already excluded.

You can also get close to a true macro with a telephoto/telephoto zoom at minimum focus distance. And extension tubes is another way. But there is no way to tell if someone follows the rules or not.
