We got dumped on today in Toronto. Close to a foot of snow which paralyzed the city streets. But, through it all, life still goes on. ;)

This shot taken with my 70-300 IS lens, from my 9th story apt. living room window, taken at the height of the storm, just after lunch.

C&C appreciated.

Cheers! :)

Thanks!

Yeah, the snow really seemed to have given this the look of a painting! That's why I thought I would share it with you guys. ;)

Cheers!

Yeah, that's an odd shot. Looks like action figures :) But seriously, nice job.

Looks cold. :)

Was there lots of cropping done and did you shoot that at a high ISO? It might just be the snow, but there seems to be lots of colour noise in the shot.

Another reason I asked about the cropping was that I'm surprised you got such a none-'looking downwards' shot from the 9th floor - the person must have been far away.

The shot was cropped, yes...because of some ugly, large garbage bins that were just to right of the woman and her dog, that I didn't want in the final shot.

The ISO setting was 400 and basically noise free. The snow itself generated the look of noise.

Distance-wise, the subjects were approx. 250 ft away and at a slightly higher elev. then the ground of my building.

The color saturation was also boosted because the snow and the thick glass of my living room window really ate into the vibrancy of the shot...the original, untouched, looked almost b&w!

Thanks for checking out the shot!

Cheers!

I like the cold desolation and look of cheer and warmth in the shot all at the same time.

Editing welcome :D
