Hi everyone

After really crazy 10 days with two alpine skiing World Cup races, two ski jumping World Cups, six biathlon World Cup races, basketball Euroleague match and volleyball European champions league match, I'm back to normal... at least for week.

Here are few picks from this week (you saw alpine skiing photos already).

First some biathlon.

Kaisa Makarainen of Finland skiing in women individual race in Pokljuka, Slovenia.

Then one from basketball.

Rimantas Kaukenas (no.13) of Montepaschi Siena going for points while Hasan Rizvic (no.1) of Union Olimpija (L) is trying to block Kaukenas during match of 8th round of Basketball Euroleague between Union Olimpija, Ljubljana, Slovenia and Montepaschi Siena, Italy

After that switch to Ski jumping World cup in Villach, Austria

Third placed Janne Ahonen of Finland soars through the air during second race of FIS Ski jumping World Cup in Villach, Austria

And for the end, some more biathlon.

Ferreol Cannard of France skiing in men sprint race

Very, very nice. I'm curious though... What's framing the eyes of the shooter in #7 ?

Are we seeing her in a reflection or through a sight of some kind? Very intreguing.

It's some kind of magic
No seriously... some biathletes (actually most of them) has something to cover their sight from sides. This "plate" is glued to rifle diopter, so they can concentrate on shooting easier. It prevents extra light (sometimes you get sun shining straight from side) coming from side, and you don't see your opponent next to you. And Michael Roesch (guy on photo #7) has put his girlfriend's eyes on this. So it's actually photo of his girlfriend, and no magic, reflection or anything else. But it looks really cool.

Here's another one of his photos from last year.

Other's have them blank, or they have something else drawn there.... Like Bjoerndalen's tiger eye:
