Hello and welcome to POTN... I really like the 2nd picture.. I know these are snapshots, so I don't know if you cropped it at all.. Try not to cut the arms off.. I don't like how her arm is cut and then the hand is back in the pic.. But like I said I know this is a snapshot and taken at the moment. I have TONS of chooped off limbs when I am taking snaps of a parade or the kids playing..

I would like to see these with no noiseware ran.. The reason I say that is because noiseware can take away detail of a picture and make it look at tad blurry I think.. But then again this is just me..

What were your settings on the camera for these pictures and what type of camera are you using??

The 1st picture is cute. It is a little on the cool side though, I think. These are cute pictures and i love the expressions on the clowns faces...

The first one is a good capture. If you were able to capture it at a shutter speed that would have shown his motion it would have been a more compelling image.

Right now he is a frozen drummer. But if your shutter speed slows down you can get his arms/drumsticks blurry and/or his symbol in motion too. Being able to record motion like this takes your people pictures to the next level.

See, I think I like the sooc (straight out of camera) shot of the clowns better.. I mean I like the black and white but I like the sharpness a little better in the sooc shot..

If I am correct the 400d and the xti's are the same camera. I have the xti and I avoid 1600 when I can..

your iso was 1600, f/7.1 and your ss was 1/400 sec..

I looks like it was cloudy out that day so I would have set my camera's iso to 600 or 800 depending.. You could have afforded to have a lower ss in these shots I think... The higher iso on this camera makes for a lot of noise..

I am just learning so take it for what it is worth but try and lower your iso when you can.. Good luck and nice shots. I look forward to seeing more posts from you..
