I just found this old thread and had to drag it back out for some fresh air... :)

Anyone that actually knows anything about ballet knows it can be a very competitive sport. Yes it is a performing art but it is also so much more.

Meaning of sport,
Sport is an activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively. Sports commonly refer to activities where the physical capabilities of the competitor are the sole or primary determiner of the outcome (winning or losing).

According to POTN gallery break downs, this thread would be more fitting for Preforming Arts (Concerts, shows, performances. Rock, jazz, rap, classical, dance, theatre, opera, mimes, magicians....)

Now let the dead thread die.

Those are cute. I have a whole lot of photos of ballet and dance unfortunately it was back in my film days.

I like the second one the best.

I agree these shots belong in the Preforming Arts section but the question as I read it was "Is ballet a sport", not do ballet\dance pictures belong in the sport section of this forum ;)
