I want to find a good macro lens to photo parachromis dovii fry which will work well for a Rebel XT with a price of preferred under $400.00

Any Idea's?

I'll be shooting mainly into a 90 gallon also other type of fry in a 210 gallon.

I want to capture the smile on pre free swimming fry ... or as close as possible.

Hi,
I use canon's 100mm f/2.8. I get some damn good shots with it. I put a rubber lens hood on it so I can place the lens right up to the glass. This worked well at the georgia aquarium and on my 125gal reef tank.

nice shots, though some OOF and underexposed a bit.

You're better off going scuba diving with an underwater housing and lights. If you're gonna do it, go it large. ;)

Preferred lens for a lot of the Saltwater guys is either EF-S 60mm Macro or the EF 100mm Macro, although I have seen a couple use a 50mm lens.

Nice shots of the fish!
Thank you for all the responses ...

gasrocks - I want to photo babies and the male is VERY vicious with teeth!

He - himself is a baby - only about 5 inch long - I need to try to keep him trusting me for when he gets full grown at about 28 inches long.
