They work 100% reliable with my ABR800, and my canon 550ex flash. However oddly enough my 550ex mastered to my 430ex i can only get to 1/160 without missing the 430ex flashing completely. Weird. But oh well still works great. But using both receivers to 550ex and 430ex, not reliable at all shooting the 430ex. 550ex fires perfect but no go on the 430ex. All the problems lay in the 430 oddly enough.

but i am very happy with them. 60 for two receivers and one transmitter and 20 in antenna mods. And i have a trigger system that shoot 100% reliable with my abr800 and 550ex. and thats what i really care about.

Congrats on the purchase and the mod. You've just become the best person for me to ask about the set-up. How did it affect your range and fire success rate? I would really appreciate if you could try and give me an estimate of what the extended range is with the 433 MHz Antenna. Good luck with the new set-up, post some pics.

Cheers
Josh

so easy to do....

make sure you know how to solder, remember heat the wire not the surface. :)

I also just bought two receivers and one transmitter. They worked ok prior to the antenna mod and great after words. I can place a flash at one end of my house and fire it while in another room at the other end of the house. I didn't use the digikey antenna and elected to just use a 3.5" piece of wire instead. It works great and you can't even tell it's modded. I've used it with my 550ex, both 540ezs (as pictured), and an old olympus T20. I plan on buying at least one more receiver, possibly two.

I was wondering about that myself. It was shot at 1/200th, and the shot before that is also dark on the right (bottom of the camera frame). However, I have other shots at 1/200th that look fine. Turbodood, can you try taking a set of pictures at 1/200th and see if you sync ok?

It looks like you batteries are getting weak. I use mine at 1/250th for a little while and then I will have to go down to 1/200th and keep going down as the black line shows up. Just the batteries getting weaker is all it is.

Did you also do the battery replacement mod to AAs?

I just ordered mine yesterday and can't wait for everything to arrive.

Yes I have them modded for AA's. Fairly simple mod. I plan on changing it around a little more. I have the solder points where if you want to use the 5 dollar cr batt you can. I want o put a plug in for the battery pack so that I can plug in the battery packs. Since it has a screw to take out to swap batteries in the battery pack it would be easier to have a couple of packs and just have a plug to pull.

I have never gotten mine to do 1/250. but i shoot 1/200 no problems 100% reliable. and thats on a brand new battery. I will be doing the battery mod next. i just heard battery orientation make a huge difference, so i kinda want to stop while im ahead lol. Plus i like using the hotshoe part. I also want to buy two more receivers but its hard to find a company that sels just the receivers

What is the battery replacement for AA's. Is there an example out there?

Are the PC to hot shoe cords commercially available or did you make those...if so where did you get them or where did you get the parts?
