Does this lens have a focus limiter? I know the Tamron doesn't, which causes it to take a while to focus going all the way from the macro range up...It does fine when locked on though. I haven't gotten a chance to try the sigma for a comparison yet. I tried the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS and at is amazing (but very expensive...)

Debating on whether to get this lens or an "L"...Hmmmm..the price is very tempting!!

Does anyone have a picture of this mounted on an XTi or other Rebel?

Thanks!

One from the weekend, shot f/2.8 @ 200mm, outdoor night time performance. Looks like I miss focused on this one, face seems OOF side of head looks good =/

Nice shot. Could be slightly front-focusing which is pretty common. I just found out that my camera was front focusing and I sent it in to Canon to have it fixed. It's worth looking into...You always could have missed the shot as well. Don't want you to go blaming the lens right off the bat, just giving you a heads up.

That's a nice shot btw. Colors and bokeh look outstanding. Just focused on her hair on the right side looks like.

not sure if the black on the right is the round or the casing

It's the casing...A round does not look anything like that. Once the pressure is built up the actual round (tip) separates itself from the casing and shoots out. The shape you see is a round casing, as you can see under close inspection. You would never see a round, it moves waaayyy too fast. Nice captures btw. It's good to see another post of this lens. It doesn't get near the love it deserves.

thank you! i know about the separation, and i figured it was the casing, but the exact placement of where it is makes it look like it could be the round. of course now that i look at it again, it's definitely too big to be a 5.56 round.
