How is the AF speed on this lens? The non-OS I mean. And how is it in lower light situations? Does it tend to hunt?

I just purchased a used one that should be here at the end of the week. If the AF speed is anything like my sigma 10-20 I will be more than happy

AF speed is great on this lens. Focus acquisition is very quick and it doesn't hunt in low light much at all. The focused tracking isn't as smooth as my 400L, but seems to work very well. This lens is a steal for the money IMO.

I would and did. The Sigma is going to be as sharp as the 70-200 f/4 @ f/4, plus it gives you a very usable f/2.8 aperture when you need it. The only drawback to the Sigma is possible quality control issues and having to send it in. One solution, is to buy a used one that has been calibrated by Sigma already. The only real advantage of the Canon is that it is a lot lighter and smaller. This is just my opinion.

Pictures from the Gloucester V Leeds Rugb Union match. I was experimenting with in camera JPEG, I could've done a lot more to address the underexposure!

2 and 3 are excellent. Hard to beat the sports ability of this lens for the price.
