Funny. You got the lens pretty fast.. Any first thoughts?

Yes the seller shipped right away. I like it alot so far. The weight shocked me at first though. The 70-210 feels almost like a toy in comparison. I liked the 70-210 alot but I wanted the constant 2.8.

QUOTED IMAGE

you have to place the actual url to the jpg to get the IMG tags to work, I've fixed it for you in the quote above

Long story short...I traded my Canon 70-200L (original version) for a Canon 100-400L and replace my 70-200L with this Sigma. Last night was the first time I was able to use it in the real world (Senior shoot and some Girls HS VB). I do not have any of the senior stuff done, but I have to say the IQ is more then equal to my old canon. The image is just as sharp at 1:1 as it is at the final crop. The focus is just as quick if not quicker then my old lens. At 10FPS, I've seen blurry shots turn in to sharp shots between frames. Here is what the lens does at 3200 and 6400 ISO stuck on a Canon 1D3:

1. ISO – 6400, f/3.5, 1/1000

Thanks. I posted it half-asleep and copied the wrong image location, lol.

dwarren, those are great for the ISO.
I'd be more than happy to take those kind of ambient volleyball shots.

Thanks Zelseman. The whole High School is going through a complete remodel, and this is the first time I've shot in the gym since it was re-opened. I was hoping for better light, but it's a lot better then what is was before so I'm looking forward to Basketball to start. :D

A few from a yearly tradition at my college, that essentially turns the center of our campus into a water park for a few hours. All taken with a T1i.

Hi
First post on the forum and I thought I'd share some photos. Upgarded from a canon ef 75-300mm f/4-5.6.
I bought this lens last Friday. Took these on Saturday.
