Hello,

I have a Powershot G1 and I can shot images (jpg) very well. In my cam the images seems ok, nice resolution but when I try read the imagens directly from CF using my notebook, the images are with defects!!! I read again the images from CF in the cam, and they are ok! Whats is happening? Whe my notebook cannot read the images correctly? JPGs and RAWs have the same problem.

thank you

ps: sorry by my english. its not very well.

You could try posting one of the images here so we can see what it looks like. What sorts of problems do you have with the pictures?

Hi,

Sounds/looks like a CF card read error to me - it seems doubtful that the G1 itself is at fault. Are you using a card reader to view the files or attaching the camera directly to the computer? If you are using a card reader, maybe it is faulty??

When you say "read the images directly from CF using notebook" do you mean you are trying to open the files from CF card? What happens if you copy the files onto your computer and open them from there?

Kind Regards,

Paul

Hello,

I read the CF from a 8 in 1 Card Reader. Sometimes when I try copy to my notebook, the image seems whorst. Sometimes I cannot copy to my note, I get an error. I think my Card Reader has a problem as you said. The CF its ok because in the cam, the image is perfect! I will try change the Card Reader to solve the problem.

Very thank for your help.

Do you still have the lead that connects the G1 to the notebook - the one that came with the camera?? You could try using that to see if it solves the problem.
