I'm sitting here and Amazon tells me that I can get something on Monday if I purchase in the next 14 hours. So, how about sending myself some ho-ho-holiday cheer. Ok, let's buy something new for myself to play with for Christmas.

The problem is, I can't find anything to buy. What's up with that? Have I reached all the gear I could ever want heaven? I guess I could upgrade my two 20D bodies to something higher but they're still putting out great prints and I just had the shutter replaced in one. I have all the glass I have use for (reasonably). Accessories, camera bag, tripod(s) and studio lights. Check check check. Maybe even another Pocket Wizard but the last time I did a studio session I had two too many.

I could go completely crazy and get something I'd rarely use like a tilt-shift and I think going 400 or 600mm 'L' 2.8 would be sexy but completely unnecessary.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? Even the POTN Sell forums are boring to me lately. Maybe I've got a fever and should go lay down. If I don't log back in by the new year please send for help.

You could buy something and send it to me as a present!

I don't even a single little L.

I never run out of things to buy. I often run out of money, though.

I could buy the whole store, but I try not to go too mental and validate my purchases. I would love that 400mm 2.8 L, imagine that with a 2x converter and my 1.6x 20D crop sensor. 1280mm of 'Reach out and touch someone'. But, can't justify it (I could swing buying it though, barely).

I ended up buying a Lowepro Slingshot 300. Its a backpack bag that is supposed to slide around under the arm and on front of you for easy access to its side-compartment. Looks pretty neat, I have a Kata waist bag that I love and a lowepro nature trekker which needs to be taken off every time you want to get into the bag. So we'll see.

And Brooke, you're doing darned well without that pesky 'L' glass!

The only stuff I want is the stuff I can't afford.....

The power of marketing ;)

Despite what Amazon are trying to tell you, it is NOT compulsory to buy something before 5pm this evening. You will not die, the world will not stop turning and George W Bush will not gain intelligence.

On the other hand, you could look at the Photography Books for a bit of holiday reading and inspiration... :)

I have never run out of things that I WANT to buy but like John, I try to only buy something if I have a reason. Right now I want a portable external hard drive and an L, both of which I know I would use, but then the problem of affording them kicks in. I COULD get both but I'm kind of in a saving mindset since I am between jobs at the moment even though the HD I want is fairly inexpensive.

Thanks for the compliment.

There are so many things that I want, but I will probably not buy most of them, I want an iPhone and Macbook Pro most especially today (went to the Apple store...bad idea).
