These skulls of of deers are the leftovers of wolfs, bears and eagles next to a nature photographer's shooting hide. The local hunting team has brought for years the unusable parts of their game to this very same place. The view is - how to say - quite unreal.

The weather yesterday was quite interesting for this kind of shooting: around freezing, no snow and some frost on the ground.

Enjoy!

Nice. Disturbing, but real and nice perspective on the images. I like # 6, it draws my eyes into the picture.

Nice gloomy perspectives. Quite a bone yard but I think the last shot spoils it a little because without knowing there is a hide there it looks as if this is just some place out in the woods rarely noticed by people. The building with the remains in front gives ME the mental image of guys sitting inside with a bunch of machine guns that all start blazing at once in order to dismember the corpses like that.

I edited my post a bit, added thumbnails so that the pictures are not jumping to your face and now it is also more friendly for the slower connections.

Taking pictures there was not bad at all. Yes it was very real, but knowing the history of the 'mess' did help to keep a 'professional' approach. Thanks for comment Sheridan.

Cheers Izak. Still in this windless, zero celsius weather there was a faint smell. Just imagine what the wildlife shooter might experience on a nice warm late summer night ... (I'm sure we have members in this forum who can tell us stories about the revolting smell and all kind of tiny bugs ... :p:rolleyes: )

Very interesting imaged you created Chris. Luckily it is a harmless fellow shooting only with 500/4.0. ;) What I have understood, this place is known only by the shooters (hunters and photographers). I got some inside information about the location. I don't expect any berry picker easily goes to that spot.

These are excellent, Olli. The subject matter could be disturbing to some of the more squeamish types, but you've done a good job of warning people as to the content. Thanks for the extra effort.

Thanks Tom.

(I was considering to name this thread "The final trip of Rudolf", but that would have been too much, wouldn't it! After all, these were not reindeer ...)
