I got a bonus at work and I plan to use it for a new lens. Its going to be one of these......if you had to pick from one of these which would you choose and why?

Tamron 75-300mm f/4-5.6 AF LD IF
Canon 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM
Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro

If there is another one you would recomend in this price range please do.

I'd get the Sigma, but get the one with "APO" in the name. It is the best of the very inexpensive slow telezooms.

If you can stretch to $540 the Canon 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS USM is better yet.

I would recommend the Canon 100-300 USM or the Sigma 70-300 APO DG. These days, the former is my best recommendation for this price-point. The ring USM is great and the optics pretty good.

Ya I thought about that one to. But I was affraid it would limit me too much in the situations I would be using the lens.

If you're shooting sports, the EF 100-300 is attractive for its focus speed. Otherwise, the Sigma 70-300 APO macro would get my vote. Don't even bother with the 75-300, it's one of Canon's worst lenses (with or without USM).

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.
