Great gallery of pictures there, what an awesome place that must be! I have never been but I certainly intend to, it's on the must do list!

Nice shot.

Thats so funny, I'm sitting here right now playing Gran Turismo 5 'Prologue'

Unfortunately it doesn't have 'The Ring' on it, I really wish it did. I spent a lot of time on it in GT4, it was awesome learning the whole track inside out and if I went there today I would know the track. The best race for me, and the hardest was the 'SLR' Mission Event (was that what it's called?) That was a hard one to crack, if I remember I think I was trying for about 3 weeks on and off! (much harder than getting 'Gold' on the final lisence!)

You'd know where the next corner went direction wise but you wouldn't know the track, not even 1%. Trust me.

Cheers, Dave.

People generally reckon you need 100 + laps before you even start to get to know the 'Ring. It is pretty amazing!

I wonder if the lady racer you photographed was Sabine Schmitz. Top Gear featured her when they took a trip out to the Nürburgring as well. She's the BMW taxi driver who knows the Ring probably better than anyone else. Very nice photos for sure! The Ring is definitely a place I will visit in my lifetime! Just out of curiosity, can you rent cars at the Nürburgring, or would you have to rent elsewhere and drive it to Nordschleiffe? I've always wondered this, and since you've been there, I'd like to find out some information, if you wouldn't mind.

Thanks,

~Brandon

You can hire any car in Germany and take it there, except they all specificly prohibit use of it on there so if you crash it you're not insured. At all.

There are race car experiences though. There was bunch of Alfa 75's in track spec for hire when we went.

Cheers, Dave.
