Well It all started a couple days ago when I was driving from Kearney NE to Albion NE. I stopped on the side of the road to get some shots of the snow...My sigma would sit there and hunt for focus when its broad day light. So I just assumed maybe it was too light out or something (I didnt have a clue). So we were opening presents and I put my 50mm 1.4 on, and it just hunts and hunts and hunts to focus. It won't focus on anything that is somewhat close to me. I am very upset because I keep excelent care of my gear and I only have like 9k shots on my camera. And yes I know I can manually focus, but honestly Im not THAT fast at it, and my eyes are bad so they all turn out soft anyway. What should I do? Is it my lenses? my camera body? Thanks for your help.

KROHN27,,,,If all your lenses do this it obviously not your lenses..I have never heard this happening before...Try turning your camera off and remove your batteries for a minute or so..This often resets your camera..

Just a thought,,this is all I can offer at this time..If it doesn't work you will have to manually focus until you have your camera repaired..Soft images or not atleast you will have some record over Christmas..

Take your lens off and look up at the focusing screen.

Is there a piece of debris on one of the focal point sensors?

Usually a few puffs with a rocket blower will take care of the problem. :)
