G'MAE Mark!

What is the housing market like over there? A bit dismal here at the moment.

Hey Cat, any nausea this morning ;)

Hi Crissa,

It's way overpriced here really. Ours is probably worth about £200k (approx $400k) for a smallish three bedroom place with not much garden. To get a four bedroom place which we'd like to do we are going to have to find another £50k minimum and then probably have some work to do on the place, or spend more and have less to do.

The prices are so high that first time buyers find it very difficult to afford anything.

Yeah.. Things are dificult out here. The government is trying to stamp down on inflation - the latest way of doing that is to let the energy companies rise their prices by up to 20% (more in some areas) and refuse to give representative pay rises to public sector workers.

Hi Mark ~sounds like your in the same boat as Crissa and I here its very expensive ..and ya get crappy places for alot of money .Andy was a realtor for 2and half yrs and it was just in the time of the bubble bursting here so he made almost no money for that time ..YIKES >>>
Now he is just doing it as a side job ..sigh ..seems hes is getting calls people are still having to have somewhere to live I guess despite the cost .

Sometimes...

Keeping caught-up is hopeless.

This is one of those times.

G'MAE all.

(ed) My avatar got me to thinking. Last year, my wonderful wife had a classroom pet (pictured as my avatar) This year, she did not choose to check him out from the school district's nature center. I sort of miss him. He was kinda neat, though not much of a pet (he had a habit of peeing on anyone who picked him up), but with a small child, the rodent had to go. Caring for baby sometimes leaves precious little time. I will forever remember "Hansel, The Wonder Guinea Pig"

Usually I do ... but when there's what seems to be an endless stream of pages, I tend to jump around a lot. If I missed an important one, point me to it and I'll take a quick glance.
