When I frst got my 40D I thought the AF button was too far into the body to get used to, guess I don't have large hands. But since enabling the CF to change it to the * button was such a pain in the arse I got used to the button. Tho I don't think it locks exposure, does it?

I did. I did. I wanted to see how freaked out you could all get. Went through about 4 bottles of Visine. LOL!

No... we are taking him on his birthday (Friday) to see what we can find. He has to put in all his saved money (125) and we will put in the rest for his bday.
Hopefully we can find one. He's obsessed.

I really like the focus button being separate from the shutter button. It allows you to focus on the subject, then move the camera to compose the shot. You can also aim the camera where you wish to meter the shot as well before composing by holding the shutter button down half way. Almost anyone who has tried this for a couple weeks will never go back. I know the pro cameras have a dedicated focus button, but does the 40D have one too? If so, I had missed that.

To avoid major stress I would call a few places ahead of time to see if they have it, let me tell you Eli is taking it in stride but he's had his $135.00 in hand since this past Wednesday and I feel so bad that we can't find one of these things even tho I didn't really want him to have it in the first place!! How weird is that, lol.

The 40 has a dedicated focus button right next to the * button.

:( Looks like the roads will be clear enough for me to head over. Word is, if I don't get there today, I probably won't as there is another storm coming through with even lower elevations being affected. Drat.
