But since enabling the CF to change it to the * button was such a pain in the arse I got used to the button. Tho I don't think it locks exposure, does it? Crissa

I really like the focus button being separate from the shutter button. It allows you to focus on the subject, then move the camera to compose the shot. You can also aim the camera where you wish to meter the shot as well before composing by holding the shutter button down half way. Almost anyone who has tried this for a couple weeks will never go back. I know the pro cameras have a dedicated focus button, but does the 40D have one too?
