I don't use live view and my review time is the shortest it can be. arger LCD and the cleaning does make sense tho. Is there a way to turn the sensor cleaning off? I don't mind it at shutdown but sometimes at startup its a pain.

you can shut it off...but the easiest way to stop it from cleaning on startup is to push any button...it overrides the cleaning mech.

I know Zane but I used it almost exclusively over the summer with my 30D and it didn't drain the battery the way this body does.

Jim I LOVE that statue of liberty shot.

It is the same battery. My 30D is amazing with battery life. I had a freshly charged battery for my mayor event thing the other day, after my trip to the city today I am showing 1 bit left on the battery. Unheard of for my 30D but seems par for the course on the 40.

Also, I haven't updated my firmware, is this really an issue?

Crissa, I shot well over 1,000 shots on my first battery with the 40D(100% on AI Servo which is an absolute battery killer). It wasn't dead when I changed it out, but getting down there quite a ways.

I'm glad everyone's ok.

Glad all is well and it is only property damage even though that sounds like a terrible loss.

BearLeeAlive wrote in post #4653227 (external link)
Wow, sure glad nobody or their animals were harmed, too bad about the property though.

Geez Becky, glad to hear you're OK. Tornadoes scare me.

Wow, Becky! Glad you're OK.

Thanks all. We're getting conflicting reports on the damage to the orchard. They may be down playing that so business will return next fall. The buildings definetly are gone. The big barn was the gift shop, since they just ended their season, inventory should have been low.

It's a blow, but; I know the family is thankful that no one is hurt. The rest is just stuff and will eventually be replaced.

on the ferry

*HEAVY SIGH* Are we almost there, mom? Can you make the ferry go any faster? I know Eli probably wasn't saying that, but; sure looks like he was wishing he could speed up time a bit.

Glad you found the system he wanted.

I'd have to agree with you. I got claustrophobia just looking at that photo...

I do get claustophobic when I go to big cities, though I can usually keep my breathing steady for a day, since I know I'll be leaving.

Hello again and bye again.

The Statue of Liberty just after the sun set.

Ground Zero work going on into the night.

Can't say which of these two speak more to me. Nice.

One more then I'm out.

Jim - fantastic shots, your shot of the Statue of Liberty, I believe is the most beautiful I've ever seen.
